"I Choose the Bear" bookmark is an original art piece I've conceptualized, designed and reproduced on plastic bookmarks. I have taken inspiration from what I've heard discussed online, but this art and text is original as summed up by my own interpretation of the material I've seen and heard. The statements are poignantly direct, while also being sadly humorous.
A question directed at women has been floating around the internet with over 20,000 posts on social media: If you were alone in the woods, would you rather encounter a strange man or a bear?
Most women choose the bear, because, well, how do I put this delicately: There are a lot of men out there who are not exactly trustworthy with a lone woman, and meeting a bear is considered safer by most (including other men).
Therefore I created a bit of art illustrating reasons why this is so with this bookmark. One side shows a brown bear giving the peace sign with the text "I choose the bear." The other side of the bookmark explains the premise and reasons why most women choose the bear over a strange man. Apologies to the good men out there who need not take offense. This is but a sad commentary on modern society and how grape is perceived by many. Many grape victims are bullied into silence with tactics alluded to here. Sorry, folks, it is what it is. I have been as delicate with my language as possible.

Premise for Women:
If you were alone in the woods, would you rather meet a strange man or a bear?
A bear usually won't bother you if you're not bothering it.
If you get attacked by a bear and say so, people believe you.
No one asks what you were wearing that made a bear attack you.
No one asks how much you had to drink or if you tried to fight back.
No one says you deserved a bear attack.
No one asks how many bears you allowed to attack you before.
A bear won't get his buddies to maul you too.
Society Take Note: If a bear attacks you, the bear is killed, so it doesn't harm anyone else.
This bookmark measures 7-1/4" long by 2" wide with a silver bear charm on the tassel. It comes shipped to you within a larger clear plastic hanging tag.
Please note that the bookmark itself is printed on plastic. It is also in a plastic slipcover. They are both plastic.
