This is an original art piece I've conceptualized and designed I've entitled "Oh, my, we're not in Kansas anymore."It's a dark interpretation of the Wizard of Oz
.
It's a little girl sitting on a gravestone who appears to be absolutely enchanted by her jack in the box/skull in the box toy.The gravestone she sits on reads OZ.So with that inspiration in mind I took it a step further, however with the small size of this pendant a few details are lost. One of the gravestones reads "Woodman" and another reads "C. Lyon."To the left of our dear delighted Dorothy is a raven sitting on some dirt and a little straw... all that's left of the poor scarecrow. Now, it's clear I've substituted the raven for Toto, but the question remains.... is the skull in the box what's left of the wizard or the wicked witch?
The necklace and frame that this picture is in is of my design and manufactured for me. It measures from the outside edges, 1 inch x 1 11/16 inches or 32mm x 40mm. It comes in antiqued silver-plate or antique gold-plate. Created in a larger format it allows the art to be better seen. It does open up and a new picture can be slid into the frame. The chain necklace measures 18 inches long.
